One of the prettiest of little programs was rendered by the Aurora
Literary Society on May 1st— ‘Crowning the May Queen.” It reflect
ed great credit upon Miss White, advisory member, who has shown
grest interest in directing their literary work during the school year.
The childern went “ Maying” and got flowers with which to crown
their queen, after which they danced around the May-pole, sang, and
made merry generally. The scene was changed suddenly by the ap
pearance of a gypsy of the true type, who induced some of the crowd
to let her tell their fortunes. She took the part so well that it was hard
to believe that she does not exist in reality with all of her peculiar pow
ers. Every girl might be given special mention, as they all preformed
their parts exceptionally well.
The Aurora Society was organized last fall and is composed of girls
from 12 to 15 years of age. This society has done excellent work dur
ing the entire school year. Following is the cast of characters:

Mr. and Mrs. Smith have been quite busy of late planting flowers in
front of Brewer Hall and they hope to have a number of nice ones.
Mr. Woods, with his force of boys, is now finishing the ice plant.
Mr. Carrow is assisting. Mr. Carrow is well known around here as
you all know. He has done a great deal of work for the school and we
hope he will be with us for some time yet.
