to r years a problem has been confronting us here at Chemawa. Where
can our students spend their spare time profitably? Where can they find
material for debates and hints and suggestions on the latest methods of
industry? Never until now has there been a solution to this problem,
and we are pleased to publish it for the benefit of all: “ Go to the Wads
worth Library in the academic building.” There are many who do not
know that we have a library at Chemawa and we take this wav of telling
them.

Come and see what we have. Over 500 volumes of good, clean read
ing, including two sets of the best encyclopedias. We have one or more
recent books on every industry taught in the school and much good lit
erature on many things not taught here. Many of these books are of
special value to employes, who also are welcome to make use of the li
brary. It is a pleasant place in which to spend a few hours with the
daily papers and popular magazines.
The library has a good foundation and has been established on a
simple plan, the one used in the public schools of Oregon. The rules
are few and simple, but we shall expect every borrower to conform to
them.
To Supt. Wadsworth thanks are due for promptness in securing and
furnishing library supplies, and to Paul Kinninook, the librarian, and
to Reginald Downie, the assistant librarian, for helping to prepare the
books for loaning. One hundred new volumes are now enroute for us,
which will be placed at your disposal as rapidly as possible upon their

The sewing-room girls are doing nicely with the uniforms as they
have only two more companies to make for.
The sewing room has received four new machines and the girls are verv
proud of them, as they can do their work better.
The girls are very busy in the sewing-room making uniform skirts
waists and gingham dresses.
