The Salem-Portland relay race has been an annual number on the
athletic prpgarm for the past six years, with four of the six races to our
credit. This year Mr. Smith, manager of athletics, is puting forth every
effort to make this race the Portland-Salem relay. The good citizens of
Salem will be delighted to have the race finish in the Cherry City.
The runners are now hunting up their togs, while some of the younger
tel lows are taking two and three mile runs through the country. Che

tion of athletes from all over the country and we must put forth every
effort and train faithfully in order to win.
