Big Bird’s Sesame Street Story is through Sun
day at the Hult Center—a 90-minute musical of
familiar songs, dance numbers, audience par

Oregon Repertory Theater presents scenes from
A Christmas Carol, their current production. It's

Literature
Marjorle Hillson, Hellen Frost and Chad Thomp
son give a reading for the Lane Literary Guild.
Hillson is from Seattle, at work on her first novel.
Frost is a poet who has lived in interior Alaska.
Thompson will tell stories he learned from an
Alaskan Indian storyteller. At 7 pm, Kerns Art

Ivan Doig, whose most recent book is Dancing
at the Rascal Fair, will read from his works at 3:30
pm, Gumwood Room, Erb Memorial Union, 1222
E. 13th. Doig is currently the Northwest's best

Museum
Lane County Historical Museum takes us back
to earlier years in these parts, with special ex
hibits, and a permanent collection of fascinating
artifacts and noteworthy displays. Stop in for a
unique perspective of living in this part of the
country. Hours are 10 am-5 pm Tuesday through
Friday, and 11 am-4 pm Saturday and Sunday, at

Celebration
Museum of Natural History of the University of
Oregon holds a grand opening for its recently
completed building, from 2-5 pm, 1680 E. 15th.
UO President Paul Olum will dedicate the facility
following the traditional Native American ritual
burning of sweet grass. A Don Hunter slide show
will be shown and there are two new exhibits. The
Museum and its expanded gift shop will be open

tion of original photographs donated by artists to
support operation of the West Coast's oldest
