The film presents the discoveries of
anthropologist Luther Cressman,
professor emeritus at the University
of Oregon. Cressman's discoveries
in the semi-arid Great Basin changed
the whole theory of Western pre- .
history. Elizabeth Patapoff filmed 4
Cressman in Eastern Oregon, fol- 4
lowing him from one cave explora
tion site to the next; she also includes
archival footage that Cressman shot
in the late 1930s, during the actual
explorations.
