    Halloween
Everybody's favorite holiday has come again. Halloween-related ac
tivity has been building now for a couple of weeks. We’ve seen some
mask making workshops, Halloween story-telling and children’s films,
classic horror films, and haunted houses. Costume events are on the
rise. A couple of weeks ago you could get in free to see “The Wizard of
Oz" if you wore red slippers. Now it’s ORTs erotic, exotic Future
Man/Woman costume ball. And Halloween with Morris and Boris. The
Whole bag of tricks!
Sunday, October 31, Halloween is celebrated both in daytime
family-style events and nighttime dances and parties. During the day
you can bike 25 miles on the fircat Pumpkin Tour; or go out to the Ar
boretum, walk the trails, make cider, and look at mushrooms; or go to
WISTEC’s party featuring live bats and problem-solving apple bob
bing. That night. Tattoo, Don Latarskic, and Illuminations brighten up
the WOW HAll for Jerry Rust’s costume party; the Robert Cray Band
celebrates its 6th Annual Halloween Ball with the Party Kings and the
Burners at the Hlilton: and there’s a costume ball at the Black Forest
Inn to benefit Vietnam Vets.
Halloween is for kids ... all us kids.

James Thornbury Band
Grounded in the blues and rooted in rock ’n roll, James Thornbury
writes a lot of the music he sings and plays on slide guitar, harp or
electric lead. Bassist and vocalist Skip Jones writes material for the
band as well. Saxophonist Barney Lindsley and drummer Barry Barner
add their considerable musical talents to the band. Together, they
create a unique blend of classic road house rock ‘n roll and blues, play
ing hot original music about sixty per cent of the time. You can catch
James T. and Band- at Old Taylor’s this weekend; see Friday’s and
Saturday’s listings.
