A NATION BUILT ON PRINCIPLE STANDS
PLEDGED TO FIGHT INTOLERANCE
Z''ENEOLOGY is an intensely absorbing study. Every human
being ought to be interested in his immediate ancestors,
but going beyond the ancestry of a few hundred years cannot
possibly carry with it any greater value to the individual than the
* mere scientific aspect of heredity. However, the extent to which
the traits and physical characteristics of one race have been pro
jected through those of other races during the recent centuries,
is furnishing considerable food for thought. The older nations,
through centuries of isolation, developed racial and nationality
prejudices. Intolerant of one another in religion, in language and
in customs of living,they fostered bigotry and laid the foundation
for the racial superiority complex, putting the seal of state and
church upon the acts of the stronger nations destroying those who
were weaker. Men who denounced the errors of the old world
set sail for a new hemisphere, determined to establish a principle
in government based upon a new code of human relations. In this
new world they outlawed religious bigotry and racial prejudices in
proportion to their ability, in the light of reason and trained intel
lect, to grasp the full meaning of the unlimited FATHERHOOD
of GOD and the all embracing BROTHERHOOD of MAN.

Such was the racial and spiritual background of the nation
thus born to espouse the cause of human equality. America
sponsored a tremendous experiment when it undertook to fashion
a new nation of the strands of many peoples of the old world. Its
accomplishments furnish an unprecedented geneological phe-
nomena. A new and mightier people than the world has ever
known has grown from the frail but verile shoots of many races
and nationalities in a little more than two hundred years. The
consciousness of oneness is now the only thing that matters to
render America safe against destructive foreign intrigue.
