Hood Ave. Construction Hood Ave. travel lanes will undergo a grind & inlay project from 7 p.m. on Th ursday, June 25 to 9 a.m. on Friday, June 26. Th e goal of the project is to improve street surface and provide pavement preservation from S. Pine St. to S. Cedar St. to coincide with adjacent parking spaces that were previously completed. Project aspects include removal of the top layer of asphalt and repaving to provide a smooth crack-free street surface. Public Works has endeavored to minimize adverse impact to adjacent businesses by doing the work throughout the evening and early morning hours. Businesses that open before 9 a.m. on Friday, June 26 should notify staff , delivery services, and anyone else who might park on Hood Ave. to park on adjacent side streets. For the next several weeks, food will be distributed drive-through style from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Wellhouse Market building, 222 N. Trinity Way. People in need of food may drive through the parking lot and pick up a bag of food for their household. Circle of Friends Rally in Sisters... Circle of Friends, a mentoring program in Sisters, is continuing to fi nd innovative ways to reach out and assist their mentors, children and families. Current needs include childcare to allow parents to continue to work, internet/computer access for online learning, supplies for at- home learning and activity kits, and even basic needs, such as food and medical access. Habitat Th rift Store Donation Days Changed Sisters Habitat for Humanity Th rift Store has changed donations days to Th ursday, Friday, and Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Th e donation location remains at the old Th rift Store at 141 W. Main Ave. Parking spaces are reserved on Main Ave. in front of the building for those donating items. ReStore donations are not being accepted at this time. When we begin taking ReStore items, it will be on a reservation basis. We hope it will be soon. Sisters Habitat for Humanity Th rift Store and ReStore are open to the public Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Shoppers are required to sanitize their hands and wear a face mask before entering. Sisters Library Schedule Book drops are now open at Sisters Library, so you can return your library materials at a time that’s convenient for you. All staff will be wearing masks and following social distancing protocols; we encourage the public to wear masks as well. You can place new holds on library materials.
