Deputies arrived in the area within two minutes and began searching for the sus- pect. They located Thomas J. Bauer a short time later in one of the public restrooms inside the Village Green Park. Bauer was positively identi- fied as being the suspect in the burglary and deputies recovered the stolen property in his pockets. Bauer was arrested and transported to the Deschutes County Sheriff9s Office Jail on charges of Burglary I and Theft II. Deschutes County Sheriff9s deputies arrested a 34-year-old transient after a local resident found the man sleeping in his bed. According to a sheriff9s office report, deputies were dispatched at about 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, to a res- idence in the 200 block of S. Elm Street in Sisters regard- ing a burglary. The initial information given to deputies was the resident had arrived home to find a transient male sleeping in his bed. The suspect left the resi- dence once confronted by the resident and was last seen near the Village Green Park.
