Sisters powerhouse

Robinson & Owen Heavy Con-
struction is a full-service excava-
tion, grading and rock produc-
tion company based in Sisters.
The company was started in
1996 by Rod Robinson and Mi-
chael Owen and has a 25-year
history of completing private
and public projects throughout
Oregon.
Rod and Mike started working
together in logging operations in
1986. As the logging industry de-
clined, they decided to turn their
experience and expertise in oper-
ating heavy equipment into their
own business. And they took their
ethic with them. As Mike puts it:

With the experience of long-
term employees, company-owned
material sources, and a wide
range of equipment, Robinson &
Owen has a history of onishing
projects, large and small, on time
and on budget.
Robinson & Owen has been
involved in the construction
of more than 75 subdivision
infrastructures in the Central
Oregon area and has earned an
excellent reputation working in
environments that involve a mul-
titude of restoration projects,
where the protection of the sur-
rounding ecosystems is of utmost
importance. Robinson and Owen
has also successfully completed
countless government contracts
for the BLM and U.S. Forest Ser-
vice, performing road reconstruc-
tion, material processing, in-
stream osh habitat construction,
culvert removal and construction,
water tank construction and dam
removals.
Robinson & Owen9s heavy con-
struction neet includes 10 high-
way trucks, three of-road rock
trucks, ove wheel loaders, eight
excavators, full-scale rock pro-
duction equipment, and grading
equipment for small and large
projects.
The company has also given
back to the community, grad-
ing and trenching Sisters9 Little
League oelds, providing work and
materials for the Sisters Park &
Recreation District9s bike park,
excavating SPRD9s skate park and
sponsoring Sisters9 OHSET team
and Sisters Rodeo.
