The festival organiza- tion now stages a nationally renowned three-day music festival on the weekend after Labor Day; a major arts event called My Own Two Hands in spring; winter and sum- mer concert series; and two songwriter camps. In addi- tion, Sisters Folk Festival has pioneered innovative music education programs in Sisters PRE-SORTED STANDARD ECRWSS U.S. POSTAGE PAID Sisters, OR Permit No. 15 Sisters resident Barry Clock captured a magical moment when last week’s full moon seemed poised on the pinnacle of Three Fingered Jack. Friends and community members are planning fund- raisers in coming weeks to aid the family of Jenny Cashwell. The 37-year-old Sisters woman was killed in a shoot- ing on Saturday, January 12, leaving behind two young daughters, ages 8 and 10. Cashwell was a weight- lifter at Level 5 CrossFit Sisters, which will hold a <Lift for Jenny= fundraiser on Saturday, February 2, starting at noon. Level 59s Facebook page announced that: <the Sisters Community will come together for one afternoon to celebrate her life by doing one of her favorite activities in one of her favorite places& let9s all 8Lift for Jenny9 in what PHOTO BY BARRY CLOCK See FOLK FESTIVAL on page 20 See FUNDRAISERS on page 29 Sisters man arrested after ER incident People’s Choice winners named A 37-year-old Sisters man was arrested on mul- tiple charges after an inci- dent at St. Charles hospital in Redmond on Tuesday, January 22. Redmond Police Department officers were called to the emergency room at St. Charles Redmond at approximately 6:45 a.m., regarding a man 4 later identified as Scott Bulloch 4 who had engaged in a physical dispute with a secu- rity guard at the location. According to police, the man displayed <threaten- ing and tumultuous behav- ior= and damaged prop- erty while in the building. Security and other hospital staff were able to remove the man and the hospital was placed in a lockout. This year, a record number of People9s Choice ballots were turned in, each ballot listing the three favor- ite pieces of art in the Sisters Library Annual Art Exhibit. Friday night, the ballots were counted and the winners were announced. Two of the three winners repeated from last year, and the third was also a previous winner. Make it two in a row for artists and friends Austin James Jackson and Steve Mathews, both of Tollgate in Sisters. Jackson, 20, a self- made landscape photogra- pher, is a senior at Portland State University; and Mathews, 76, a professional artist and retired teacher, also earned ribbons in last Inside... the dispute sustained minor injuries. Officers responded and attempted to locate Bulloch. He was not immediately located, but police received information including his name and clothing descrip- tion. After approximately 45 minutes, the hospi- tal reopened for normal business. At approximately 9:30 a.m., officers were called to the area of NW 17th Street and NW Jackpine Avenue to a report of a physical dispute that turned out to involve Bulloch. Officers arrived and detained Bulloch. Law enforcement and family members had been looking for him since the earlier inci- dent at the hospital.
