Wednesday, October 10, 2018 The Nugget Newspaper, Sisters, Oregon Applications for apartments soon 13 Entertainment & Events By Sue Stafford OCT Correspondent The number of afford- able apartment units avail- able in Sisters is receiv- ing a boost this month with the acceptance of applica- tions for Ponderosa Heights Apartments, the new afford- able apartment complex on Brooks Camp Road. To encourage local partici- pation, applications will be accepted only in person at the Tamarack Apartment com- plex at 555 N. Larch St. in Sisters. Applicants may apply Monday, October 22 through Thursday, October 25 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Applicants may apply at any point during the four-day wait list opening. There is no preference given to those who apply early. Applying during the opening will enter the applicants into a lottery. Their names will be placed on the wait list in order of the ran- domly assigned lottery num- bers. Applicants will be con- tacted beginning at the top of the lottery list and offered an apartment until all available units are rented. Applicants that are not selected dur- ing the lease-up process will remain on the wait list. The apartments, which are managed by Epic Property Management, are restricted to households earning no more than 60 percent of the area median income (AMI) for the household size. A single- person household would need to have an annual income of $29,280 or less. Maximum rents will range from $650 for a one-bedroom unit, $730 for a two-bedroom, and $1,244 for three bedrooms. Water, sewer and garbage are included in the rental amount. The finished complex will consist of 48 units including 32 one-bedroom, eight two- bedroom, and eight three- bedroom units.
