The Student of the Month says that heʼs benefi ted fro” ”any “wise words” fro” coaches and teachers that have instilled healthy habits that he believes will serve hi” well as he steps into the future. “Our teachers are very passionate, along with our coaches; and each of the” ”ade an i”pact on ”y life and I a” grateful for that,” he says. Hernandez is student body presi- dent, the place-kicker for the Out- laws and a yearbook photographer. He is excited about his student gov- ern”ent work, where they are en- deavoring to do ”ore co””unity outreach. And heʼs happy to be back on the gridiron after suffering a seri- ous concussion as a fresh”an. “Iʼ” really enjoying kicking,” he says. “Iʼ” very grateful to have a chance to play football again and be part of a culture like that.” Wyatt says that his teachers have helped hi” develop good study hab- its that enable hi” to “go the extra ”ile” in really understanding the ”aterial he studies. “Iʼ” just really lucky to be here, and I want to end on a good year and get so”e good habits for further life,” he says. “Although I have only had Wyatt in class for a few weeks, I have come to know him the last two years due to his involvement with our student body. It is clear that he has a genuine heart for others and a strong desire to selfl essly serve. He can rarely be seen without a smile on his face. In class, he is kind, respectful and accepting. In the halls, I hear him offering a word of encour- agement or see him generously giving high-fi ves. This young man has true Outlaw spirit and with him leading the student body this year, it will be guaranteed that positive changes will take place. Keep up the good work, Wyatt!” — Samra Spear “Wy Wy” His name may change, in a variety of ways, but his kind heart and active searching to go beyond expectations is a constant and solid part of Wyatt Hernandez charac- ter. There’s nothing he won’t tackle (and fi nish strong) in a student leadership way from a servant’s heart (my favorite was the SMS Peanut Butter skit) Stay classy, Wyatt.” — Mrs. Aylor “Wyatt is as good as they get when it comes to model- ing character. He has been a role model for so many of us here at SHS, both as a student and an athlete as well. During his time here, he has shown us how to be a great teammate, a servant to others, model student, and how to han- dle adversity. At all times doing so with a positive spirit, full of energy, and a great sense of humor. The Sisters community is blessed to have this young man in it. Thank you, Wyatt!” — Gary Thorson Wyatt is a servant leader whose spirit and humility combine to make him an effective student body president. He ex- hibits a deep level of commitment and is gracious even in the face of challenges and adversity. – Charlie Kanzig These businesses have joined The Nugget in supporting our youth and their accomplishments by co-sponsoring the Student of the Month program.
