Child Car Seat Clinic
The Sisters-Camp Sherman
RFPD will hold a free clinic on
Friday, July 27 from 11 a.m. to
1 p.m. at the Sisters Fire Hall
(301 S. Elm St.) to inspect and
educate caregivers on how to
install and properly use their
child safety seats, including
booster seats. No appointment
is necessary. Come in to let
staff assist in making sure your
car seat and booster seat are

City to Award Grants
The City of Sisters seeks to
award grants to nonprofi t
community groups and other
entities that meet the criteria
for the 2018-19 fi scal year,
beginning 7/1/18. The City
will award up to a total of
$20,000 in grants for Sisters
community projects. Submit a
Community Grant application
(on the City’s website or at City
Hall) and letter of interest by
Friday, July 27, to the attention
of Kerry Prosser, City Recorder.

Pending Changes to the
County Marijuana Program
The Deschutes County Board
of Commissioners proposes
marijuana regulation changes
with public hearings scheduled
to begin in late summer. On
Wednesday, August 22 at noon
at the Sisters Library, learn
the program’s nearly 2-year
history and the changes that are

DLT Walk & Hike Series
Deschutes Land Trust volunteer
naturalists lead free walks and
hikes in small groups, now
through November 2. The
required online registration for
each outing opens one month

The Sisters Rotary Hoedown is
set for Saturday, July 28 from 5

to dance, eat, drink, play and
fundraise. There will be silent
and live auctions and music by

Three City Council positions
will be open on the Nov. 6
General Election ballot; the
terms of Asson, Connolly, and
Esterman expire 12/31/18 (and
they’re eligible to re-apply). You
must be registered to vote in
Oregon and a resident of the
city of Sisters for 12 months
preceding the election. Pick up
materials at City Hall starting
May 30. Perfected petitions
must be received by 5 p.m. on
August 28 to be on the ballot.
