Pintarich October 15, 1941 — February 28, 2018 1940 — 2018 Kathryn Kati Lindbloom Renner was born on October 15, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, and died at her home in Sisters on February 28. Her parents were Arthur and Dorothy Lindbloom. Surviving her are her hus- band of 40 years, Vernon Renner; sister Janice Lindbloom; brother Arthur Lindbloom; nephews Mike Lindbloom, Bob Lindbloom; niece Stephanie Ruttert; four step-children, Melanie, Julie, Brent and Amy. Kati attended schools in Chicago having graduated from Morgan Park High School. Colleges attended were Southern Illinois, Bachelor of Arts in geogra- phy, Santa Clara University, Masters of Arts in communi- cation, and an MBA. She was a TWA flight attendant and supervisor/ training instructor at the TWA academy. She was stationed at Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. As a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and her work as an advisor to a college chapter, she was proud of her work with young college women dur- ing their formative college years. After retiring from fly- ing, she taught college courses in the supervision and management depart- ments of West Valley College, Mission College where she met her husband who was also an instruc- tor. They married and lived in San Carlos for over 20 years. Kati was hired by San Jose State College as a staff training officer. She was employed as a stock broker for E.F. Hutton/Shearson Lehman Brokerage firm in San Jose, California. She was interested in local community affairs, a member of Rotary, Junior Matrons, and president of the San Francisco Mid Peninsula Guild and served a three-year term on the San Carlos, California, City Planning Commission. While on vacation Kati and Vernon found Sisters to be an ideal community to live the rest of their lives. Kati became active by seeking employment at the Stitchin’ Post, a famous quilting store. She volun- teered at the Sisters Area Chamber of Commerce providing guidance to visi- tors. She greeted new busi- ness owners and had a keen knowledge of the city and surrounding community. She knew the streets, busi- nesses and places of interest to tourists and residents. She could be found most days at the chamber or at the many events held in the city. Kati was a member of the city finance committee for the past two years. Kati enjoyed travel with her husband, visiting former TWA friends, and visiting places she studied in col- lege. She enjoyed knitting and sports, especially ten- nis and golf. She will be sorely missed by her family, coworkers, friends and the community. Sebastian, the family cat, misses her, too! In place of flowers, please send a contribution to the Sisters Chamber of Commerce scholarship fund where Kati served as judge of high school applicants each year. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, at St. Edward the Martyr Catholic Church in Sisters. Reception to follow at the church. Pintarich passed away of complications of pancreatic cancer on March 22, sur- rounded by family. She is survived by her brother Lawrence Gates; three daughters, Jennifer Humcke, Sarah Short, and Amy Hamilton and their families; and her extended family from her 30-year mar- riage to Stan Pintarich. Phyllis was born in 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri. She moved to Georgia after con- tracting polio, then the fam- ily moved to the California Bay Area where she was raised. In 1962, she received her Bachelor of Arts from University of Oregon where she joined Pi Beta Phi and remained an active member. She moved to Oregon in 1973 where she raised her daughters and worked as an administrative assistant for several local companies. As a loving mother rais- ing a family, she was tal- ented at sewing, cooking, and knitting. She always had an active social life, enjoying everything from the Pendleton Round-up annu- ally, numerous Airstream rallies, taking family and friends on cruises, as well as attending the Sisters Rodeo. She even participated twice in the Glory Daze Sisters Car Show with her 1965 convert- ible Mustang. After retiring to Sisters with her late husband, Stan, she developed a close cir- cle of friends that became her local family. She was involved in the community through her knitting and quilting groups and was a founding member of the Hero Quilters of Sisters.
