Spinners/Weavers Group
The community is invited to a
groundbreaking celebration for
Sisters Habitat for Humanity
future homeowners Bear and
Mary Gray. The event takes
place Thursday, February 22 at
10 a.m. at 372 N. Desert Rose
Loop in the Village Meadows

and Weavers Guild will meet at

Furry Friends Foundation offers
many pet services to families,
including free spay and neuter
surgeries, and maintains a year-
round pet food bank. Furry
Friemds is located at Sisters Art
Works, 204 W. Adams Ave.,
Ste. 109, open Tuesdays and
Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The SSD Board of Directors
will appoint three community
members to fi ll vacant Budget
Committee positions to serve
for three budget terms/cycles
(to expire 6/30/20). Candidates
must live in the district, not be
offi cers or employees of the
district, and be qualifi ed district
voters; they should participate
in school activities, commit
time to review materials, and
attend committee meetings.

Mr. SHS Pasta Feed
The annual fundraising
pasta feed for the Mr. SHS
Pageant will take place on
Sunday, March 11 at Sisters
Community Church (time to be
announced). The contestants
and their escorts will serve,
and there will be an auction
for couples to perform work
that the bidders request. For

seeks qualifi ed volunteers
for the budget committee for
3-year terms. You must reside
within the district boundary, be
a registered voter, and not be
employed by the district at the
time of appointment or during

Desert Chorale begins practices
for the spring concert. All who
like to sing are welcome; there
is no audition and ability to
read music is not required. The
concert will be performed near
the end of May, with practices
at 6:30 p.m. every Monday.

is raising funds for the Sisters
Cold Weather Shelter by
raffl ing a quilt made by Dera
Rosdahl. The 58" x 60" quilt is
on display at Rainwater Cafe,
where tickets are available: $1
each or six for $5. The raffl e
drawing will be Wednesday,
March 7 at Sisters American
Legion meeting at Sisters City

Senior Luncheons and More
Sisters-area seniors are invited
to join others at the Sisters
Senior Luncheon! Lunch
is served every Tuesday at
noon at Sisters Community
Church with a $3.50 suggested
donation for those over 60. The
espresso hour runs 11 a.m. to
noon, and BINGO is played
after lunch until 2:30 p.m. A
free blood pressure clinic is
offered the second Tuesday of
the month, 11 a.m. to noon.

Dementia Caregivers Group
A free support group for
caregivers of those suffering
with Alzheimer’s or other forms
of dementia takes place the
fi rst Tuesday of each month
from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at

meetings provide emotional,
educational, and social
