Outlaws fall in close
game against JC
By Rongi Yost
Correspondent
The Outlaws lost 10-7 at
Junction City in their final
league game of the season on
Friday, October 20.
Junction City scored the
first touchdown of the con-
test early in the second quar-
ter. The Tigers recovered
a fumble on the one-yard
line and ran it in for the TD
on the next play. The extra
point was good and JC went
up 7-0.
Sisters marched down the
field and evened the score
7-7. Jake Stevens scored on
a 35-yard run, and Hayden
Sharp’s kick for the extra
point was good.
The Tigers started the
third with an eight-minute
drive. At first and goal on
the second-yard line, the
Outlaws’ defense held, and
JC was forced to kick a field
goal.
“Our defense really dug
in three consecutive tries and
stopped them,” said Coach
Neil Fendall. “Sam Mitchell
had a great tackle on third
down in the backfield.
“We played on a very
sloppy field, the ball was wet,
and it wasn’t a great offensive
night for either team, but our
defense played very tough”
added Fendall. “They just
had fewer mistakes than we
did at the end.”
