Girls soccer splits games

The girls soccer squad
posted a 4-0 shut out at home
over La Pine on Monday,
October 2, but three days later
were shut down 2-0 at Cottage
Grove. The Outlaws improve
as a squad every game they
play, but continue to struggle
to get the ball into the back of
the net.
Victory at home over the
Hawks on Tuesday was sweet
and boosted the Outlaws con-
fidence. Rylee Weber scored
the first hat trick of her career
to lead the squad.
Sisters scored their first
goal of the contest at the
16-minute mark off a corner
kick by Gracen Sundstrom.
Weber met the cross at the
near post with a half-volley
that squeezed by the keeper
for the score.
The Lady Outlaws kept
up their intensity and out-
played La Pine. Coach Jaron
Jacobsen told The Nugget that
hard work and teamwork led
to Sisters’ next goal.
Olivia Hougham applied
pressure in the midfield and
forced a turnover. Hougham
stole the ball, played it over
to Mirjam Ehrler, who settled
the ball and made a pass back
to Weber. Rylee beat two play-
ers and struck a laser-shot into
the lower-right corner to give
the Outlaws a 2-0 lead, which
held to the half.
Sisters kept up the pressure
in the second half, and took
control of the game as they
outplayed and out-hustled the
Hawks to the 50/50 balls.
In the 47th minute, Weber
scored her third goal to com-
