Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show splashes
downtown Sisters in a riot of colored fabric,
a spectacular and unique display that draws
fiber arts enthusiasts from around the world.
The 2017 Quilt Show runs from 9 a.m.
to 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, all through
downtown Sisters.
“Storytellers” is the theme of this year’s
show — and the 2017 poster created by
Sisters’ artist, Dan Rickards.
Quilt Show Week kicked off on
Sunday, July 2, from noon to 4 p.m. with
the 14th Annual Fiber Arts Stroll. More
than 20 fiber artists shared their textile
arts including quilts, weaving, basketry,
fabric dying and much, much more. This is
the most unique art stroll in Sisters — the
artists are on hand showing you how it’s
done, and some even have a project you can
try yourself!
Each year instructors from Quilter’s
Affair — a week of quilting workshops
and lectures —display their world-class
quilt art at the Teacher Tent on Quilt Show
Day, located behind the Sisters Art Works
Building at 204 W. Adams Ave.
New in 2017 is a traveling exhibit of 120
amazing quilts from Cherrywood Fabric’s
Lion King Challenge (with permission
and support from Disney Theatrical).
Participants from all over the world were
challenged to design an original quilt with
just two basic colors — gold and black.
Everyone started with the same fabrics,

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at FivePine Lodge &
Conference Center.

unbelievable! Visit 120 amazing quilts inside
the Sisters Fire House Community Room
from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Quilt Show Day.
On Sunday, July 9, visit the FivePine
campus at the east end of town for a
stunning outdoor display and quilting
lecture by Rob Appell, of Man Sewing. The
show’s special events sell out early, so get
your tickets now.
Many visitors enhance their experience
of the Quilt Show by helping to put
it on. A complete listing of volunteer
jobs and online signup is available at

Prior quilting knowledge or experience is
not a requirement.
