Sound of Speed 5K Run/Walk
The fundraising Sound of Speed
5K Run/Walk will take place at
the Sisters Airport on Tuesday,
July 4 with participants hitting
the runway at 8 a.m. Cost is
$30; proceeds go to the Sisters
High School Swim Team.

Stargazers are invited to gather
at the Sisters Park & Recreation
District building on Saturday,
July 15 at 9 p.m. for a free

through powerful telescopes.

Pancake Breakfast
Enjoy all-you-can-eat pancakes,
ham, eggs, juice and coffee

11 a.m. at the Camp Sherman
Community Hall. This is a
fundraiser for the historic

for adults, $5 for kids ages 5
to 10, and free for under 5.

Annual Library Book Sale
The Friends of the Sisters
Library annual book sale takes
place during Quilt Show, July 8
from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in front of
the library. From 1 to 2 p.m.,
everything is half-priced; from
2 to 3 p.m., a full paper bag
of items is $2; at 3 p.m. all
items are free! With a few
exceptions, books, CDs, DVDs
and books on tape will be sold
at $1 or less. Find an excellent
selection of gently used fi ction,
nonfi ction, and kids’ books;
quilting books discounted too.

Sisters-Camp Sherman RFPD
will offer the AHA “Heartsaver”
CPR/AED module Friday, July
14 and the First Aid module

Students Raising Trip Funds
Sisters 7th- and 8th-graders are
now raising funds in advance
of next year’s history trip to the
East Coast (NYC, Philadelphia,
Gettysburg, Washington DC).
The fi rst fundraiser (of many to
come) will take place during
Quilt Show, where they will
sell solar eclipse glasses and
water bottles. Watch for them
and help them meet their
goal for an unforgettable
