Sisters photographers display work at library
By Sue Stafford
Correspondent
With their cameras, skilled
photographers are able to
capture moments in time
that will never again be seen
exactly the same way. In the
May Friends of the Sisters
Library art exhibit, members
of the Sisters Photography
Club are showcasing their
own unique moments in
time with familiar and for-
eign landscapes, rodeo action
shots, wildlife, animals, and
birds, and people caught
being themselves.
Three Sisters residents
– Brent MacGregor, Tom
Davis, and Conrad Weiler –
founded the club more than a
decade ago. The club’s mem-
bership now runs around 30
to 35. This is the 11th year
the club has displayed at the
library. Davis and Weiler
both have entries in this
year’s exhibit.
Adult photographers of all
ages, abilities, and interests
are welcome at the club’s
monthly meetings on the sec-
ond Wednesday at 4 p.m. in
the library community room,
where members share their
work and techniques. The
more experienced members
are always willing to help a
novice photographer improve
their skills.
Each
of
Linda
Ziegenhagen’s photographs
is unique due to frames she
makes from reclaimed barn-
board, rusty barbed wire, and
common household items
like trays. One of her pho-
tos hanging in the commu-
nity room is an example of
her “recycled frames.” The
photograph of Drake Park
is printed on canvas that is
wrapped around the sides
and framed with her hallmark
wood and wire.

“Meeting in the Dust” is
one in a series of three origi-
nal sepia photos printed on
metal. “Hummer’s Repose”
by Lexie Bakewell is a stun-
ning shot of a hummingbird
at rest, a sight seldom seen.
Most photographs in the
exhibit are for sale. If inter-
ested in purchasing one, fill
out the form on the entry
table in the library com-
munity room and put it in
the box located there. The
artist will make contact
and the photo will be avail-
able when the show ends
May 31.
