Stars Over Sisters Star Party
Learn about the night skies
in the fi rst Star Party of the
season! Stargazers are invited
to gather at the Sisters Park &
Recreation District building

p.m. for a free presentation
and slide show. If weather
then permits, plan on heading
out to the SHS sports fi elds to
observe the night sky through

Rotary Invitational
A multi-school track meet,
the Rotary Invitational, will be
held at Sisters High School on

Civil War Reenactment
Saturday and Sunday, May
20 and 21, the NW Civil War
Council presents living history
with battles and civilian life of
the 1860s. The events will take
place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at
House on Metolius Meadows
in Camp Sherman. Entry is $8
adults; $5 seniors, students
& military; and free for kids
younger than 6 ($25 family
maximum). Parking fee of $5

Appreciation
At the Sisters Library at noon
on Thursday, April 27, join artist
and educator Jason Graham,
a slam poetry champion and
speaker who performs hip
hop as MOsley WOtta, for a
conversation exploring cultural
appropriation. Jason shares his
own poetry and the words of
other artists who may or may
not have crossed the line. For

Arbor Day Celebration
The City of Sisters invites
the community to the 10th
Annual Arbor Day Celebration
at Village Green Park on

and the pendants given to

“Better Half” Marathon
The Sisters “Better Half”
Marathon, a family-friendly
event, will be held Saturday,
April 29. All proceeds go
to the Sisters High School

AARP Driver’s Safety
AARP’s Driver Safety Course,

A new Sisters-based group
called “Plant Happy” has been
formed on Facebook to help
those interested in a more
plant-based diet, as a source
of information and support.

Child Car Seat Checkup
The Sisters-Camp Sherman
Fire District will hold a child
car seat checkup on Friday,
May 5, 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at
the Sisters Fire Hall. Nationally
certifi ed technicians will
check your child’s seat for any
recalls, as well as proper fi t and
installation, and caregivers may
receive help with installation
(bring your child, and seat
and vehicle user manuals, if
possible). No appointment is
necessary; plan on at least 20
minutes per seat. For more
