The board of directors

the Council’s executive direc-
tor, effective March 1, 2017.
She replaces Matt Verdieck,
who recently resigned to pur-
sue other interests.
Rotella will lead the
Council on Aging’s team
members and volunteers in
serving the needs of more than
2,000 seniors in Deschutes,
Crook and Jefferson coun-
ties through direct support

Family Caregiver Support
Program, referrals from
the Aging and Disability
Network (ADRC), Senior

Assistance (SHIBA), as well
as nutrition education and

designed to aid the vulnerable
and rapidly growing senior
population in Central Oregon.
Rotella has worked at the
executive officer level and as
a consultant for not-for-profit
and for-profit organizations

over the past 14 years, includ-
ing as VP operations, West
Region, for Sunrise Senior
Living, directing 20 premium
senior living communities in
California and Washington
serving 1,500 seniors; and as
VP operations and market-
ing for Northern California
Presbyterian Homes and
Services (NCPHS) head-
quartered in San Francisco,
a premier nonprofit provider
of housing and healthcare for
seniors. Her consulting clients
include Symphony Senior
Living, the Masonic Homes
of California and others.
Rotella earned her BBA
in Public Accounting at the
Hofstra University Frank
G. Zarb School of Business

in Corporate Strategy at the
University of Michigan Ross
School of Business. Her
community volunteer work
includes as a capital cam-
paign member for the Three
Rivers Humane Society in
Madras, an advisory board
member for Living Well
Assisted Living at Home
and as member and president
of the Council’s board of
directors.

Movie house ‘springs into culture’
Building on the success of
such previous engagements
as “The Nutcracker” and “Il
Trovatore,” Central Oregon’s
premiere destination movie
theater, Sisters Movie House,
has launched its “Spring Into
Culture” series.
Every first and third
Tuesday night during the
months of March, April and
May, Sisters Movie House
will showcase a different art
form as part of the series. The
series continues with ballet
on Tuesday, March 21 with
“Sleeping Beauty,” and then
moves into unique art exhibi-
tion territory with “I, Claude
Monet” on April 4.
Completing the series in
later April and May, Richard
Armitage stars in the Arthur
Miller classic “The Crucible,”
captured live in a performance
from London’s renowned Old
Vic Theatre on Tuesday, April
18, followed by more opera
with “Madame Butterfly”
from the Royal Opera House
on Tuesday, May 2. Last but
not least, another art exhi-
bition, this one called “The
Artist’s Garden” and focused
on American impression-
ism, rounds out the series on
Tuesday, May 16.
“We are thrilled to bring
the breadth and depth of some
amazing global culture exclu-
sively to Sisters Movie House
here in Central Oregon,” said
