Calling all singers!
If you want to join the
Sisters community choir,
now’s the time.
Connie Gunterman, the
new director of Sisters High
Desert Chorale, is looking for
shower singers, snow singers,
road-trip singers, radio sing-
ers, church singers, closet
singers and anyone else who
enjoys singing alone or with
someone else. Everyone is
welcome to join as the cho-
rale begins preparation for
their spring concert.
The first spring practice
will be held on March 20 at
the Episcopal Church of the
Transfiguration, located at
68825 Brooks Camp Rd. in
Sisters. Rehearsal times are
from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. each
Monday evening. The concert
is scheduled for late May.
mission and vision statement.
Improved “customer service”
and “inclusive practices” are
other areas of focus.
Scholl said inclusive prac-
tices are “teaching practices
that benefit all learners.”
Customer service means “that
our families and their kids
know we care about them and
we care about their success,”
he said.
Overall, the District
has gained 34 students
since September 13, 2016.
Enrollment is important
because the State of Oregon
allocates about $7,000 per
student to each public school
district.
Ex-employee
gets
probation
BEND (AP) — A former
Deschutes County Sheriff’s
Office employee charged
with lying to federal agents
investigating theft allegations
against a former sheriff’s cap-
tain has been sentenced to
three years of probation.
The Bend Bulletin reports
36-year-old Krista Mudrick
was sentenced last week
after pleading guilty to mak-
ing false statements. She was
accused of lying about where
the $200,000 stolen by former
Capt. Scott Beard came from.
Beard received a five-year
prison sentence in September.
Church doors will be open
at 6:10 for everyone to get
acquainted and get to know
each other from 6:10 until
6:30 p.m. Then everyone gets
to work.
Members are asked to
bring a plain black three-ring
binder, a pencil and water. If
you want a sneak peak at the
upcoming music, visit the
chorale’s website at http://
