Sisters Fourth Friday Art Stroll set for December 23
By Helen Schmidling
Correspondent
’Tis two days before
Christmas, and Sisters is
aglow with lights for last-
minute shoppers. Come out
early for the Fourth Friday
Art Stroll from 4 to 7 p.m.
Plan some extra time to
enjoy the art stroll, so you
can enjoy holiday treats with
your friends. Pick up a map
in any gallery and begin your
adventure.
Stop by Studio Redfield
to see Susanne Redfield’s
hand-painted themed tiles for
the Disney outdoor pools at
the Old Key West and Port
Orleans Resorts. This extra-
large project puts Redfield
back in touch with Disney,
as she worked with them on
“new” resort properties back
in 1991.
Clearwater Gallery will
be celebrating the final
Red Bow Sales of the sea-
son. Artists David Mensing,
Amanda Houston, Edie
Shelton, Wendy Vernon, Dan
Rickards, Mark Davis, Chris
Nelson, Randall Tillery,
Shirlee Johnson, Janice
Druian, Vicki Shuck, Dennis
Dame, Jerry Dame, Garth
Williams and more offer
discounted pricing on their
artwork.
Hood Avenue Art con-
tinues its Small Wonders
Exhibit, wherein gallery art-
ists share small-format works
of all media, for art collec-
tors to give the gift of art.
Live music will add to the
festivities.
The Collection Gallery
has bronzes and paintings
from Gary Cooley. Come in
and see the large selection,
plus fiber art, photography,
woodwork, watercolors and
oils. The patina finishes on
his sculptures are the result of
experimental combinations of
chemicals and heat, creating
various effects, from realistic
to unpredictably exotic.
At Sisters Gallery &
Frame Shop, watch scratch-
board artist Jennifer Hartwig
demonstrate her remarkable
techniques. There are new
acrylic paintings and 2017
calendars by Kimry Jelen.
Pick up a hand-knitted hat or
scarf from Helen Schmidling
as the perfect stocking-
stuffer. Check out Annelie
Pottery’s knitting bowls (to
hold yarn), which are half-
priced for the holidays.
Ken Scott’s Imagination
Gallery will feature his Rose
Fire Cauldron and other new
creations by Ken.
Twigs Home & Garden
continues its show by the
Central Oregon Textile
Artists Collective, featuring
local fiber artists and Stitchin’
Post employees. This work is
as unique and individual as
each artist.
Raven Makes Gallery
is featuring Jackie Larson
Bread, award-winning
Blackfoot bead-worker.
Jackie’s intricate shading
and “painting” with beads is
showcased in her complex
and beautiful portrait and
necklace bags.
Sisters Art Works Entry
Gallery features photography
by Al Krause, from Sisters
Rodeo images to beautiful
owls.
Bigfoot Wellness, at 392
E. Main Ave. continues to
feature art by Linda Hanson.
Other galleries open for this
month’s Art Stroll include
Dyrk Godby Gallery, Things
Etc., Navigator News, Cha
for the Finest, Old West
Collectables, The Jewel,
Jill Neal Gallery and Sisters
Library.
Don’t forget to sign up for
the December Quick Draw.
