In other news, Sisters Graduate Resource Organization (GRO) has announced its new board. The new board is set up to create a strategic plan to expand and grow GRO resources for the future. Board members are: Karen Hensley — intern president and co-founder; Joe Bachtold — vice-chairman; Ann Thompson — secretary and co-founder; Joe Hosang — SHS principal; Rick Kroytz — SHS ASPIRE site coordinator; Charlie Kanzig — SHS counselor; Russ Hamm; Patrick Hartman; Pam Olivier; Susan Parker; Tim Ross. For more information on GRO visit http://shs.ssd6. org/sistersgro/. The ASPIRE organization is looking for a few good men and women to help junior and senior students at the high school manage the college application process. The ASPIRE program has 35 volunteers today; to make the program work for all junior and senior students the pro- gram needs at least five more volunteers. Rick Kroytz, the ASPIRE coordinator, will be on hand to train you. Organizers say that time commitment is small compared to the guid- ance and excitement you will bring to the students. Continued from page 1 State Police Bomb Squad, bomb squad detectives responded to the scene from the Salem area. At 11:33 a.m. bomb squad detectives arrived on scene to assess the item. It was deter- mined to be a sports drink bottle with a small amount of liquid inside. During the investigation, deputies received informa- tion the bottle had been left at the scene by boys who had been playing “bottle flip,” a game where a partially filled bottle is flipped in the air in an attempt to get it to land upright. After playing for a period of time, the bottle began to break down and the boys wrapped it entirely in black duct tape to hold it together. After playing, they left the area, leaving the bottle at the park.
