SHS Wreshmen Orientation
Monday, August 29, new
student orientation at Sisters
High School runs 7:45 a.m. to
3 p.m. for incoming freshman.
There will be activities (team-
building, discussion skills, etc.).
After lunch, students receive
lockers and run through a
short version of their schedule.

Interpretive Walk
On Saturday, August 27 from
10 a.m. to noon, join Friends of
the Metolius and Susan Prince
in a round-trip walk from
the Camp Sherman Bridge to
Allingham Bridge to learn about
the habitat of the Metolius

Book Corner Needs Books!
Finished with your summer
reading? The Book Corner at
the Sisters Library seeks to
restock shelves and would
love to have your gently used
books: fi ction (10 years or
newer) and non-fi ction (5 years
or newer). Open Tuesdays and
Saturdays, 1 to 3 p.m. to accept
two boxes/bags of books at a
time. Your books stay in the
community and all proceeds
sponsor local programs and

Auction Items Needed for
Wundraiser for Veloso
On Thursday, September 15 at
The Belfry, a fundraiser to help
with medical bills will be held
for Justin Veloso who is battling
cancer. Live music will begin
at 6 p.m., live auction at 7 p.m.

Pancake Breakfast
All are invited to a traditional,
all-you-can-eat fundraiser

Run to the Top!
Sisters Kiwanis presents the
Hoodoo Challenge Saturday,
September 24, a half-marathon
fundraiser for scholarships and
community projects. 13.1 miles
with 1,035' elevation gain.
The $85 fee includes a T-shirt

grades 1-9 is Monday, August
29; for grades 10-12 is Tuesday,
August 30; and for kindergarten

8:05 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., at SMS
is 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.; and at
SHS is 8:05 a.m. to 3:06 p.m.
