Prior fuel treatments in the area allowed for a suc- cessful coordinated multi- agency initial attack response to easily stop the fire at one acre. Their son, Col. John Broomhead, stationed at the Pentagon, asked them if they would like to attend his graduation from the United States Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
