Luau set to roll at Village Green Park
Lordi joins land trust
board of directors
The Deschutes Land
Trust announced today that
Danielle Lordi of Bend has
joined the Land Trust’s Board
of Directors. Lordi brings
unique skills, expertise, and
passion for conserving land
in Central Oregon to the orga-
nization, according to staff.
Danielle Lordi is a civil
litigation attorney at Bryant,
Lovlien & Jarvis, PC. She
received her B.A. from
the University of Virginia
in Charlottesville and her
JD from the University of
Oregon School of Law in
2004. Danielle grew up in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
but considers Oregon her
home. She particularly loves
Central Oregon, where she
enjoys hiking, birding, kaya-
king, and spending time with
family. Danielle has lived in
Bend since 2010 and also
serves on the boards of the
Humane Society of Central
Oregon and East Cascade
Audubon Society.
“I am so excited to con-
tinue my involvement with
the Land Trust as a board
member and feel privileged to
be a part of the Land Trust’s
vital and exciting work to
conserve our unique Central
Oregon lands and wildlife
habitat,” said Lordi.
“We’re truly thrilled with
the addition of Danielle
to the Land Trust’s Board
of Directors,” said execu-
tive director, Brad Chalfant.

“Danielle first got involved
with the Land Trust by vol-
unteering for our bird survey
program. She then stepped
up that involvement as part
of the Leadership Bend pro-
gram of the Bend Chamber
of Commerce. Her skills and
background are huge assets,
particularly as we continue
our landmark Campaign for
Whychus Creek.”
The Campaign for
Whychus Creek is the Land
Trust’s campaign to finish
protecting the highest-qual-
ity wildlife habitat along
Central Oregon’s Whychus
Creek, ensure the permanent
stewardship of those lands
for generations to come, and
engage the community along
the way. In the two years of
the Campaign, the Land Trust
protected two new parcels of
land along Whychus Creek.
They acquired the 480-acre
addition to Whychus Canyon
Preserve in October 2014 and
the 58-acre Aspen Hollow
Preserve in April of 2015.
The Deschutes Land Trust
conserves land for wild-
life, scenic views, and local
communities. As Central
Oregon’s only nationally
accredited and locally based
land trust, the Deschutes
Land Trust has protected
more than 8,750 acres since

set for August 11 at Village
Green Park from 6:30 to 8:30

luau, and they will be helping
