Fourth Friday Art Walk
Helen Schmidling
Correspondent
Fourth Friday Art Walk is
gaining momentum in Sisters!
The past two walks, on April
22, and for My Own Two
Hands on May 13, saw record
turnout among locals and visi-
tors to Sisters.
Here’s the lineup for
Friday, May 27, 4 to 7 p.m.
Hood Avenue Art is fea-
turing watercolors by Winnie
Givot and pottery by Mitch
and Michelle Deaderick.
Whether a face, a flower, or a
mountain, Givot finds mean-
ing through beauty, which
then fills her stunning water-
colors. The Deadericks create
individually crafted ceramics,
from multi-glazed dinnerware
to whimsical totemic bird
characters.
Gary Cooley’s Collection
Gallery highlights Bend
watercolor artist and teacher
Cindy Briggs. “Shimmering
Waters” is the latest by this
world-renowned artist, whose
motto is “Make Every Day a
Painting.”
Clearwater Gallery’s Art
Stroll will be from 4 to 6 p.m.,
featuring oil and acrylic art-
ist Dan Rickards, and oil art-
ist Chris Nelson. Step back
in time and see how both
artists present a different way
to look at the timeless theme
of “Vintage.”
Twigs Gallery has land-
scape and fiber art by Tonye
Belinda Phillips and her good
friend Kathy Deggendorfer.
They work in different media,
but their color and design
sense are similar. This show
focuses on elements, rather
than large landscapes.
“Fish and Fowl: Native
Woods,” a show of recent work
by Sisters artist and long-time
educator Steve Mathews, is at
Sisters Art Works. The exhibit
will include illustrated tables,
benches, mirrors, wall pieces
and acrylic paintings.
“A Confluence of Eagles”
by Scratch Artist Jennifer
Hartwig, and prints in differ-
ent styles by printmaker and
photographer Lynn Woodward
are featured at Sisters Gallery
& Frame Shop.
Ken Scott (Imagination
Gallery) says, “I sell art to
make more art. I am keyed
toward an honorable comple-
tion of my true calling ... con-
necting with the tangible and
intangible, the physical and
the metaphysical … my own
precious, heart connection
with metals ... 43 years and
counting.”
Studio Redfield features
the work of husband-and-
wife team Randy and Susanne
Redfield: Randy’s new
abstract expressionist works
on wood panels and a series
of smaller watercolors; and
Susanne’s Kibak Tile line,
sold for 30 years through Ann
Sacks Tile and Stone, for use
in residential kitchens, bath-
rooms, and pools, and com-
mercial applications.
Alpenhimmel will again
host a Pop-Up Gallery with
collage from Justine Gibbs,
mixed media assemblage from
Terri Smith, acrylic paint-
ings from Charity Alva, and
mosaic jewelry from Laurie
Santa-Maria. Base Camp
Studio, a nonprofit art therapy
organization, has provided
multiple pieces of artwork for
sale. Lydia Newton, from the
Americana Project, will be
performing.
Joining the Art Stroll this
Fourth Friday is Jill Neal
Gallery, in Jill’s new location
at 207 N. Fir St., around the
corner from Cascade Fitness.
Jill is exploring new abstract
figures, in addition to her
“Wild, Tasteful Women.”

Fourth Friday Art Stroll

Things Etc…, Jeffrey Murray
Photography, Grizzly Ridge
Upcycle, Navigator News,
