Celebrating a big birthday...
Sisters salutes...
Bill Anttila was informed
last month that the old Little
Cloverdale School, which
currently houses Heart of
Oregon/Americorp, did not
have a flagpole from which
to display the United States
flag.
Staff at Heart of Oregon
said they would love to
have a flagpole but could
not afford one. At the regu-
lar monthly meeting of
Sisters VFW Post 8138, and
21
American Legion Post 86,
Bill Anttila informed the two
organizations of the need.
Members present collected
a free-will offering. The pic-
ture shows Commander Bill
Anttila and Trustee Wendal
Halterman, VFW Post 8138,
who installed the flagpole,
along with Americorps
students. The flag will be
flown 24/7 at the school,
and is lighted by a solar
light.
