Wednesday, October 21, 2015 The Nugget Newspaper, Sisters, Oregon Making a home in Sisters... Folk festival hosts breakout artist The Sisters Folk Festival presents breakout artist Christopher Paul Stelling in concert at The Belfry on Sunday, October 25, at 7 p.m. “This guy is really excep- tional,” says SFF board member Jim Cornelius. “Everywhere we turn we hear ‘You’ve gotta book this guy!’ We’re really glad we could make a show at The Belfry happen.” Christopher Paul Stelling isn’t the first musician to take the stage with just an old guitar and the stomp of his foot. What sets him apart is an imagination that is com- pletely his own, yielding sto- ries that feel like parables that you slowly realize have never before been told. His imagination also lives in his fingertips as he traverses from country blues to fla- menco to claw-hammer banjo, all on his trusted “Brownie,” an old nylon-stringed guitar that’s been traveling the globe with him for years. Advance tickets are $15 for adults at www. sistersfolkfestival.org ($20 at the door) and $10 for youth and students. In addition to the show, ’Sup Dog will host a fundraising dinner, start- ing at 5:30 p.m. The dinner is a full-plate meal featuring ’Sup Dog’s famous sausages. Proceeds from the meal will go to the Sisters Folk Festival Americana Project. The Belfry is located at 302 E. Main Ave. photo provided Christopher Paul Stelling will play at The Belfry.
