Wednesday, September 30, 2015 The Nugget Newspaper, Sisters, Oregon Country Financial opens in Sisters By Jim Cornelius News Editor Linda Alldredge opened the doors at Country Financial in Sisters in June. Opening an office in Sisters was a long time com- ing for the Country Financial representative. She first established her business in Redmond, but she always had her eye on her hometown. “I had a feeling that my best chance of success was to start in a little bigger town and build a client base, which I did over six years,” she told The Nugget. “As a result, I’m so much more relaxed. I’m busy all the time, right out of the gate.” Country Financial offers insurance services for home, auto, life, business and retire- ment. Alldredge particularly emphasizes her work help- ing people enroll under in the Affordable Care Act. She has “superagent” status in help- ing people navigate through that often-confusing welter of options and requirements. “I’m going to be working with businesses also in this next year,” she noted. Alldredge brings a lot of passion to her work. For her, it’s not just a matter of busi- ness, but a matter of serv- ing individual clients and the broader community of Sisters. “The question you have to ask yourself as a business is, ‘what can I do for them … what is your value as a LETTERS Continued from page 2 for advancing any cause on the public opinion battlefield. In our community, a conversation with a neighbor, even one you might not always see eye to eye with, can help avoid all sorts of incrimination, anger, and wasted bullets, and might just help us realize we really do have a lot to fight for, side by side. In closing, I wish to applaud all the veterans I know who, as individuals, do support this multi-user trail between Black Butte Ranch and Sisters. Their voices matter, too. The client had a wife with Parkinson’s disease, and he wanted to set up a life insurance plan so that she would be taken care of in the event something happened to him. As it happened, his demise came very quickly. “The peace he had know- ing I was there to help him have everything settled for her… I don’t think there’s anything that I will be able to accomplish professionally that will be more important than that,” she said. Alldredge describes her business as “the best kind of independent business.” She’s her own boss, but she has significant backup. “It’s not just me,” she said. “The resources of Country Financial can be brought to bear to support what I do.” For more informa- tion on Country Financial in Sisters, contact Linda Alldredge at 541-549-6946 or 541-728-1573. s s To the Editor: In response to David Keeton’s letter concerning Andrew Gorayeb: “If coach Gorayeb said something derogatory or negative to your son, he deserved it.” Congratulations on making me laugh really hard on my lunch break with that one. Sports sure have taken a step backwards if “the coach’s job” is spewing homopho- bic slurs at “highly impressionable” children and their parents. I in no way intend to make a personal attack against Andrew, but consider the possibility of someone on your team actually being gay? Would it be sportsman- like to respect that? Or is homophobia part of the Outlaw creed? It seems a little absurd to defend behavior like that. Jeremiah Perry-Weed Quality Truck-mounted CARPET CLEANING n Quality Cleaning 13 years i s!
