Now dubbed Rendezvous in the Pines, the event will be at Aspen Lakes and fea- ture wine-tasting from Ribera Vineyards and beer-tasting from Three Creeks Brewery. The theme is Oktoberfest, so bratwurst, roast pork, and sal- ads are on the menu. There is a rumor that accordion music may be heard, but lederhosen is optional. Rotary’s dessert auc- tion will round out the meal. Silent-auction items will be on display, cases of wine and local craft beer will be raffled. The main beneficiary of the evening is Sisters’ nonprofit Seed to Table. This garden- based education and wellness program brings fresh food and experience to students in Sisters schools. It is in need of a two-wheel walk-behind BCS tractor to increase the garden area. Seed to Table personnel will be at the event to share about the program. Surplus funds will go toward other Sisters Rotary programs such as the first- grade Books for Kids and stu- dent sponsorship of six young people in Nepal through Sisters-based Ten Friends. Tickets are $40 each, include wine- or beer-tasting and dinner. Purchase tickets from any Sisters Rotarian, at US Bank, or call Lei Darcey at 808-741-1642. The Outlaws notched a 3-2 win at Molalla on Thursday, September 10, and, playing at home two days later, walked off the field with a 1-1 tie with Henley. In Thursday’s action, Molalla scored on a scramble 12 minutes into the contest to take a 1-0 lead. Ryan Funk came out of the box to make the save, but Molalla was able to chip it over into the goal. Five minutes later, Colton Mannhalter trapped a pass from Jadon Bachtold outside the left side of the 18, made a quick turn, and hit a left-foot shot to the upper-left V to tie the game at 1-1. Malachy Sundstrom scored in the 35th minute to put the Outlaws on top 2-1. Tristan Kaczmarek took a shot from a set-piece at 25 yards out, and the ball deflected off a Molalla defender. Sundstrom was able to secure the ball, and score a left-foot shot past the keeper. Four minutes later, the Outlaws scored again. Sean Willitts assisted Bachtold on a cross from the right side for an eight-yard finish. At the half, Sisters held a 3-1 lead. Molalla scored their final goal on a penalty kick with less than a minute left on the clock. Sisters controlled posses- sion and tempo for most of the game. Coach Rob Jensen said, “Sean did a really good job distributing to the wings, and creating transition and flow. Malachy kept his engine run- ning all night, and put lots of pressure on the defenders, and our wings did the same. Our big players played big, and we saw good min- utes from everyone off the bench. It was a well-rounded game.” At home on Saturday, the Outlaws ended their pre-sea- son play with a 1-1 tie with Henley. Henley scored at the 10-minute mark off a header and took a 1-0 lead. At the 50-minute mark in the sec- ond half, Sean Willitts sent the ball into the upper-left corner from 23 yards out for the score, and tied the game at 1-1. The score held until the final whistle blew. Sisters out-shot Henley 17-7. The Hornets only had two shots on frame, while Sisters had nine. The Outlaws controlled possession for most of the game, and had lots of oppor- tunities to score. Henley’s goalie had some outstanding saves against some very good shots from the Outlaws.
