Though two nights and days have passed since the cyclone tore through the small towns in the southwestern part of the state, reports of damage and loss of life are still coming in. There are six fatally and twenty-five seriously injured. At Lexingten: dead Anna Walker, Mrs. John Luke, her brother Ferris Walker and negro boy; three fatally injured, At Staubury: Mrs. Ward and two unknown women dead, and two fatally hurt. Richmond, Va., April 18. The con ference of Southern governors assem bled here. They were welcomed by Governor MoKinney, and Governor Fishburn, of Arkansas, temporary chairman. The barn of Charles Reed, a prominent horseman of this state, near Gallatin, was struck by lightning laBt night. Twenty-five brood mares in foal by the celebrated horse, St. Blaze,' were in stantly killed. Loss, over $100,000. Oil Refinery Burned. Buffalo, April 13, The Holmes oil refinery covering 12 acres, with 30.000 barrels of oil and a lot of curs burned this afternoon. The loss will be heavy. Behring Sea Court. Paris, April 13. Upon resumption of the sitting of the Behring Sea court of Arbitration day, James C. Carter continued in behalf of the United States. Nearly a Million Dollars loss Orchards Ruined and More Lives Lost. Many Colored Chll dren Missing. TORNADO IN MICHIGAN, Ypsilanti, April 13. The city is in ruins. A tornado struck here sweeping everything in its path. The storm took a strip through the business por tion of the town, moving houses from their foundations and raising others. Twenty store fronts are smashed in. On Huron street the rubbish Is plied 10 feet high. The postofflce building is demolished and the mail scattered in the street. NEARLY A MILLION. Ypsilanti, Mich., April 13. Total loss by last night's storm In this city is about 1000,000. No loss of life is re ported and but tew are Injured. There are unconfirmed rumors that Saline, a village ten miles south, Is destroyed. IN MISSISSIPPI Tunica, Miss., April 13. The down train brings tbo news that the town of Robinsonvllle was completely destroy ed by a cyclone this afternoon. Not a house is left in the town of 800 inhabi tants, and as a finishing touch to the destructive horror, fire started and burned all the buildings which were blown down. The night depot opera tor's wife was killed aud the day opera tor's wife was badly injured. The cyclone swept the country west aud east of the fated village, and killed many people, mostly colored. Gravo political troubles are reported from all parts of Peru. The most serl jus disorder so far reparted occurred at the towns of Cu terne and Chole. An armed body of men, headed by General Rivera and a man named Guerr, attacked the gover nor's palace. "Viva Porok" was their cry. The attack upon the palace begun at 3 o'clock iu the afternoon, aud the siege lasted until 2 o'clock on the fol lowing day. While one portion of the mob held the towns, another body bo Hleged the governor's pluce, and many volleys were fired at tho nlllulal's res!, deuce. Rosalo Pilla, ono of the defend ers of tho house, was killed. Just ns the mob was about to batter down the doors of the palace, while their leaders were shouting "Kill the governor," the troops who bad beeu sent for appeared. The soldiers cnarged upon the rioters. Rivera, the real leader, Was killed. With the loss of their lender, the rioters became disheartened. They ceased fir ing and fled in all directions, but they carefully retained all their arms, which will no doubt be used on another occa sion. Besides tbo leader, Rivera, three others rlotors and a child were killed. More than 20 persons were wounded during the fight. An incident similar to this, less bloody iu its results, oc curred in Lima a few nights ago. While a band was playing on tho plaza in front of tho president's palace, a crowd gathered. Some one raised the cry " Viva Porok" which wus cheered by nearly all tho persons in the crowd. The guards arouud tho palace were about to fire, when the crowd fled. Ban Domingo and Hayti. The rioters have possession of most of the town. A large crowd of workingmen today raised a shout for universal suffrage. A fight took place with the police and many were injured. English Bank Failure. London, April 13. The English,' Scottish & Australian chartered bank has failed with liabilities amounting, it is Bald, to 8,000,000 pounds, or 140,- 000,000. No estimate of tho assets is yet made, but they are supposed to be largo. Tho bank was incorporated by a royal charter in 1862 and claimed to havo a paid up capital of 900,000 and a reserve fund of 310,000. The sus pended bank has muln branches at Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane, and Mel bourne and ut various lesser points m the coloules of New South Wales, Vic toria and South Australia. It trans acted a banking and exchange busiaeia between Great Britain and the Aut tralluu colonies and had three large de posits. The failure has added to the anxiety pud consternation which the previous recent failures of financial institutions with Australian connections have caused.
