A few fish come in from the Slletz
agency almost' every day. Salmou
can be had all tho year.
The saw mill is very busy now,
everything is moving lively about
there. They are putting in full time.
Everyone is making garden at
present. And almost everyone Is
praying for rain so that the ground
wjll not get too dry for vegetables to
grow.
The work on the scows is progress
ing very well ; one is finished, and
Friday carried its first load of rock
to the jetly. Tho other will be done
In a few days.
Tho lumber is on tho ground for
tho new hotel, and the grading and
excavating is mostly finished, so it
will not be long until Toledo can
boast of a new hotel.
Almost every family in this neigh
borhood has bought an organ lately;
they are all tho rage here. Cfood
day for organ peddlers. This will
be a musical community before long.
This is a good country for sports
menall kinds of game aro plenty
largo as vfell as small. The boys
have been trying to 'locate a large
benr tbat has been in these parts,
1but have failed so far.
Tho people of Toledo aro some
what aroused over tho prospect for
coal mines here. They have found
very favorable formations close here,
and probably before long wo will
havo a large mine here.
