Moores-Elgln.
The Congregational church was
the scene of a quiet wedding last
evening, tho most deeply interested
parties being well known, and
classed among the most popular
young peoplo of tho city. Last
night, at half past eight o'clock,
Rev. J. W. Harris, pastor of the
First Congregational church of this
city united in tho holy bonds of
wedlock, Miss Florence Elgin to
Wylie A. Moores.
There were only a few friends
present beside the families of the
happy young peoplo and tho cere
mony was of tho simplest form. No
weddingmarch no ring no bride's
maids, nor groom'smen nothing
but tho simple words of the minister
that made these two man and wife
to indicate that this was a wedding
unless ono noticed the profusion of
flowers about the alter, and the
beautiful floral horseshoe, with its
unspoken wish of "good luck" that
hung over tho place where stood the
contracting parties.
After the brief service at tho
church, Mr. and Mrs. Moores re
entered tho carriage and were driven
to the home of his mother, Mrs.
I. R. Moores, corner of Front and
Marion streets, where tlieir home
will be for the present.
Mrs. Moores, tho bride, is the
daughter of a well-to-do fanner
living a few miles south of town,
but sho has made her homo in this
city for some time. Wylie A.
Moores is in the employ of Thos.
Holman, the electric light proprie
tor, and is one of Salem's most trust
worthy young men. Both the
young peoplo begin their new life
with tho sincerest kind wishes of a.
great many friends.
Worth Knowing.

cold, attended with a distressing
cough and running into consump

many so-called popular cough
remedies and steadily grew worse.
Was reduced in flesh, had difficulty
in breathing and was unable to
sleep. Finally tried Dr. King's Now
Discovery for Consumption and
found immediate relief, and after
using about a half dozen bottles
found himself well and hits had no
return of tho disease. No other
remedy can show so grand a record
of cures, as Dr. King's New
Discovery for consumption. Guaran
teed to do just whut is claimed for
it. Trial bottle free at H. W. Cox's
