Cross and other similar organisation
meetings. A committee of the wives
of four past exalted rulers have
charge of making arrangements for
using the halt for such meetings and

Jacobs, on Eighth street, Friday, by
a few of their friends. The affair
was a complete surprise to Mrs. L.
Jacobs. They "presented her with a
beautiful Pickard china cake plate.
Those present, besides the family,
were Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Smith, Mr.
and Mrs. J. J. Parker, Mr. and Mrs.
f E. E. Magee, Mrs. Margaret Pitta and
Bruce Jeffries.
The Klamath Palis B. P. O. Elks
lodge will give a large Informal dance
Friday evening next week at their
beautiful temple In this city at the
corner of Third and Main streets. The
dance will be In the form of a recep
tion to the lodge's one hundred new
members Initiated within the past
few weeks. E. B. Hall Is chairman of
the entertainment committee.
The Woman's Relief Corps is to
day making plans for a large turnout
In the morning to bid the Fort Klam
ath army recruits goodbye at the
station. Eight of the boys came down
last nlgbt and will leave in the morn
ing. The band will be out and a big
automobile parade Is desired. The
parade will meet at the courthouse at
9 o'clock.

Women ot Woodcraft Circle held
their regular meeting at Moose hall
on Tuesday evening, three delegates
being elected to attend the district
convention (at Roeeuurg, Oregon, la
June. The followltiR were chesen:

The members of the Eastern Star
gave a shower tor Mrs. E. B. Henry
Wednesday evening owing to Mrs.
Henry's misfortune recently when tire
consumed the Henry residence on

portunity to show their appreciation
of the many occasions when Mrs.
Henry, a popular local vocalist, has
favored them In the paat. About

enjoyable evening waa spent, after
