George Lynch and wife came in from

Frank 1 Lane and wife and Mrs. F.
A. Miller and little Vinton Miller re
turned to Lakevievv last Tuesday, the
two former from Portland and the latter
from Albany.

It is reported that Prof. Wood, th
blind musician, who recently gave a
concert in Lakeview , died a short tiur
ago in Fresno, Cal., of heart disease.
Prof. Wood was the oldest continual
traveling musician on the Pacific Coast.
John Venator expects to leave this
week for Harney county. After a brief
stay there he will go on to .Ann Arbor,
Michigan, to enter the law school for
another year's course. After graduat
ing he intends to locate some place in
the East.
John Briles was up from Davis Creek
last Tuesday with another load of those
fine pears. Mr. Briles reports a serious
epidemic of scarlet fever at Davis Creek.
It is understood that the h aises, where
in the disease prevails, have been put
under strict quarantine by the health
officer of Modoc county.
F. E. Itussill and Miss Anna Kingsley
were married in Lakeview last Saturday
evening, Sept. 20th, Rev. Holloman of
the Baptist Church, officiating. The
groom is the rustling young mill man
from Cottonwood, and the bride i. the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard King
sley of the West Side. The Examiner
extends best wishes to the young couple
for a happy wedded life.
