Priscilla “Deanne” Ligh-
tle of Hermiston, Oregon,
was born on October 13,
1924, in Ottawa, Kansas, to
Bert and Phoebe Harris Gil-
liland. She died on
January 18, 2017, in
Hermiston, Oregon,
at the age of 92 years.
After graduating
from high school in
1942, she worked in
the office of Scott’s
Department Store Lightle
for 14 years. Deanne
married Calvin “Curly”
Lightle in 1943, while he
was home on furlough. The
family moved to Hermis-
ton, Oregon, in 1953, where
Deanne worked for Mont-
gomery Ward for 10 years.
She then worked as a care-
giver for 25 years.
She was a member of
the First Baptist Church for
many years and has attended
the First Christian Church
for several years. Deanne
was a charter member of the
Bloomer Girl’s Garden Club
in 1962 and was active until
her health failed a few years
ago. She was a member of
the Eagles Auxiliary for
many years. She loved read-
ing, working in her flow-
ers, and animals. Deanne
and Curly loved music and
dancing. What a wonderful
wife, mother, grandmother
and best friend. She was a
loving and gentle lady who
will be missed so much.
Mom retired at the age of
85. She was determined and
strong to the end. Goodbye,
“Our Little Energizer Bun-
ny.”
She is survived by her
daughter Kristy Brown and
her husband Tom, Hermis-
ton, Ore.; grandsons
Travis Christian and
wife Heather, Herm-
iston, Ore., Ryan
Christian, Hermis-
ton, Ore., and Dan-
iel Lightle, Portland,
Ore.; granddaughter
Tori Lightle, Boise,
Idaho; great-grand-
sons Cutter and Tyson
Christian, Hermiston, Ore.,
and Rhett and Rory Lightle,
Boise, Idaho; nephew Frank
Lupton and wife Yvonne,
Minnesota; and extended
family Don and Mary Ann
Christian, Hermiston, Ore.
Deanne was preceded in
death by her husband of 68
years, Curly Lightle; sons
Rick and Terry Lightle; and
two sisters and three broth-
ers.
A celebration of life ser-
vice will be held Wednes-
day, January 25, 2017, at
11:00 a.m. at the First Chris-
tian Church, Hermiston,
Oregon. Burial will follow
at the Hermiston Cemetery,
Hermiston, Oregon.

until moving to Umatilla,
Oregon, in 2013 where he
has lived since.

9:56 a.m. - A passerby reported
a cold burglary on W. Hermiston Av-
enue, in which an intruder appeared
to have entered a home through a
connected garage sometime in the
previous 24 hours.
1:01 p.m. - A Hermiston woman
reported a scam call from Publisher’s
Clearing House, calling from 876-
463-9044 and 876-292-6512, asking
her to obtain a Government Approval
Receipt from Walmart for $285 before
she would receive her winnings.
10:13 p.m. - Two males left Safe-
way without paying for merchandise.
3:14 a.m. - A caller at Northeast
13th Street, Hermiston, reported that
her sister was suicidal.
4:13 a.m. - A woman at Jack in
the Box, North 1st Street, Hermiston,
reported her ex-boyfriend called her
from that location and said he was
freezing to death.
4:06 p.m. - A caller at West Herm-
iston Avenue, Hermiston, reported
that a juvenile male threw ice at her
daughter and scratched her face.
WEDNESDAY, JAN. 18
4:06 a.m. - A male at West Herm-
iston Ave., Hermiston was outside
screaming.
1:18 p.m. - Two men were fighting
at Elizabeth Court Apartments, South-
east 4th Street, Hermiston.
2:18 p.m. - A caller at Southwest
11th Street, Hermiston, said her
grandmother was pulling her hair and
shoving her.
6:49 p.m. - A man at South-
west 11th Street, Hermiston, hit his
girlfriend and made her get out of the
car. The car, a red Chrysler 200, was
then seen going northbound on 11th
Street.
9:20 p.m. - A caller at West Ridge-
way Avenue, Hermiston, reported that
a man had been following them for
three days.
THURSDAY, JAN. 19
6:57 p.m. A caller at Rue 21 on
Southwest Highway 395 reported that a
person who had shoplifted from the store
before was currently in the building.
SATURDAY, JAN. 21
4:01 a.m. - Shots were fired at
Northeast 7th Street, Hermiston
10:54 a.m. - A caller on West
Madrona Avenue, Hermiston, reported
that he thinks his sister may be medi-
cating his mother inappropriately.
11:59 p.m. - A dog was hit at South
Highway 395, Hermiston. The dog was
bleeding badly but still alive.

10:38 p.m. A caller on East Cath-
erine Avenue, Hermiston, reported
that his daughter has run away from
his home.
MONDAY, JAN. 23
12:04 a.m. A woman at Good
Shepherd Hospital on Northwest 11th
Street. Hermiston, called from the
emergency room to report a stolen
identity.
8:56 a.m. - A manager at Walmart
on North 1st Street, Hermiston,
reported a car running with a child
unattended inside the vehicle.
12:59 p.m. - A caller on West
Beebe Avenue, Hermiston, reported
their 17 year-old daughter had run
away.
