Dean Bush,
87, died on
Monday, Sept. 28,
2015, at his home
after experiencing
failing health.
Dean was born
on Nov. 3, 1927, at
Republican
City,
Nebraska, to Earl Bush
and Ruth Bush, and
lived there until he was
in the third grade, when
their family moved to
Twin Falls, Idaho. During
World War II, Dean’s fam-
ily moved several times
as their father was in con-
struction and they moved
near construction sites.
Dean graduated from Twin
Falls High School in 1945.
Although the war had just
ended, Dean joined the
Marines and served his
country for 2 years before
receiving an honorable
discharge in 1948. Two
weeks later, Dean Bush
and Marjorie Albee were
married at the Twin Falls
United Methodist Church.
Dean attended and grad-
uated from Idaho State
College School of Phar-
macy in Pocatello, Idaho,
in 1951.
Dean served his pharma-
cy apprenticeship in Rich-
land, Washington, and then
he and Marge moved to
Pendleton, Oregon, where
the three boys joined the
family. David was the ¿rst,
then Larry and then Randy
Bush. While there, Dean
was a snare drummer and
founding member of the
Pendleton Drum & Bugle
Corps. He enjoyed playing
with the Drum Corps, and
they took many trips to-
gether, and also played at
the Pendleton Round-Up.
After 12 years in Pend-
leton, Dean and his family
moved to Kenne-
wick, Wash-
ington, where
he
worked,
and
Marge
continued
raising the
boys.
In
1971, the family
moved to Hermiston
where he worked at
Hermiston Drug for
many years.
Dean was pre-
ceded in death by
his parents, Ruth
and Earl Bush,
and his eldest son, David
Bush. Dean is survived by
his wife Marge and sons
Larry and Randy, all of
Hermiston; Valerie (Da-
vid) Bush of Lincoln City,
Oregon; grandson Nathan
Bush of Molalla, Oregon,
and granddaughter Nicole
(Ian) Stevens in Salem,
Oregon.
Dean was a loving hus-
band and father. He was
hard-working and humble,
and had a very even tem-
per. He was a superb car-
tographer, having the abil-
ity to look at a map of an
area he hadn’t been to and
envision all the surround-
ing terrain. He also loved
astronomy and stargaz-
ing. He took the family on
many trips to the Oregon
coast, and all around the
west, Canada and Minne-
sota.
He was also very patri-
otic, considered himself a
lifelong Marine, and near-
ly reenlisted in the Marines
during the Korean War.
Funeral services were
held on Saturday Oct. 3rd
at the Hermiston United
Methodist Church. Burial
with military honors fol-
lowed at the Hermiston
Cemetery.

2015, at his home. He was born Jan. 23, 1942, in Ottumwa,

growling at each other.
• A caller reported her 16-year-old
daughter woke up at night to a man
staring at her through her open bedroom
window on East Newport Avenue.
• Someone reportedly drove a vehicle
down Burruss Lane, destroying fences,
landscape lighting, cement curbing and
plants.
• A man driving a red Ford pickup
reportedly crashed into a parked motorcy-
cle on East Ridgeway Avenue and fled
the scene.
• A red 2001 Ford Escape with Oregon
license plate 039EBR was reportedly
stolen on East Walls Road.
• A supervisor reported an employee
stole from a business on South Highway
395 in Stanfield.

• A man reportedly threw a woman
to the ground and would not let her up on

years.
Robert married Aldeen
Mae Cooper on March 28,
1942, in Dallas, Oregon. He
served in the United States
Army during WWII and
was stationed in Hawaii.
Robert worked in the log-
ging industry and later for
Polk County in the highway
department for many years.
They moved from Dallas,
Oregon, to Hermiston, Ore-
gon, in 1989.
He was a member of
the Seventh-day Adventist
Church in Hermiston, Ore-
gon. Robert loved working
in his shop carving and cre-
ating vintage and modern
airplane models. He enjoyed
playing the banjo, writing
poetry, airplane movies, the
outdoors, hiking,
and going on
walks in his
younger years.
He is sur-
vived by his
children
