NW Women’s Surf Camps John Stowell in concert
celebrates 13th anniversary
Celebrating its 13th anniversary on June
11 of the first surf camp event, NW Women’s
Surf Camps announces its new 2017 event
and group lesson schedule.
This year’s event offerings feature the
New Couples Surf Weekender Getaway in
Manzanita, Aug. 4-6. A three-day and two-
night surfing adventure to one of the most
scenic areas on the north Oregon Coast with
two nights lodging at the Inn of Manzani-
ta, couples day surf camp, gourmet dining
at the Blackbird restaurant and l connec-
tion with waves, nature and people. Learn
to stand up paddle on a beautiful flat water
coastal lake in their “Mindfulness on the
Water and in Life” standup paddle and yoga
day camps.
Each month of the summer season, NW-
WSC will hold its most popular event; Wom-
en’s Surf Weekenders in June, July, August and
September. Two days of surf camps filled with
beach yoga, hours of exceptional coaching
both on the beach and in the waves, catered or-
ganic lunches, all surf and wetsuit equipment,

Friday, June 9. Jazz musician
John Stowell will close out the
series with some fretless guitar,
smooth and experimental jazz.
He has been an artist-in-res-
idence at schools in Germa-
ny, Indonesia, Argentina, the
United States and Canada. He
served as assistant director and
performer at Oregon Public
Broadcasting’s PDX Jazz Sum-
mit in 1991, and since 1995 has
been a contributing columnist
for a number of magazines,
