Co. sent a bill of ?1 to the town council for a year lease on nine inches of the eaves on the southwest corner of tin fire engine house projecting over the S. -rr right-of-way. - Ihcn Mayor Kocken proposed that a bill of $3 be sent to the eomp&n for a year's lease on three-foot eaves of b. P. freight houee pro jecting over Front street, south side ef building. The motion wt s carried, and the bill sent in. M. E. CHURCH NOTES The parsonage has received f- thorough overhauling during th oast three weeks. The who! lpper floor has been papered and ceiled, porches repaired, noois painted, and much ether worV, aesides, thanks to the very efn- cient Cadies' Aid society. The membership of the church has well nigh doubled during tht past six montks. Rev. E. R. Surprk Party There was a surprue party at Hite's place, Hiton, Saturda evening, in honor oi Miss Evelyi Heath. The evening was spent ii playing games. The toothpuUing machine "blew up," and near- putting the doctor out of com mission. "The oldtime circuser, V Robin son of Robinson and Bailey's, fa mous shows of trick giraffes of the 6unny past, was present, and put on the wonderful Tornado Trick, tatching "half a dollar ir the funnel," which was a hum mer and brought down the house. This man Robinson builds some of the best rock roads, and is "figuring on" a patent for a new design of "corn-shucker." A big crowd was present, and had a merry time, and report comes in that one fellow going West caio near getting lost, the "night being so dark."
