Veanne is back after quite an illness. We are glad to have her back. She announced the next dance will be 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, here at the senior center, with live music by the Up River Country Band. She also noted we have lost a lot of our seniors in the last couple weeks – Mary Vik, Mary Lambeth, Jack McKenna, Vera Hensley, Richard McKinley and Rita Bremner. Veanne also announced that, due to people coming in for lunch at the last minute, lunch will not be served until 12:05 p.m. Try to be here by 11:45 a.m. so the cooks know how many tables to set up. Thank you for your thoughtfulness. Buz won the Len’s Drug gift FHUWL¿FDWHDQG%RQQLHZRQWKH free meal. On Feb. 12, we had chicken cordon bleu, rice pilaf, cooked carrots and rolls. I think it’s a good thing; you never know when someone might need help and you could save their life. One of the few things I re- ally dislike is coming up soon: “Spring forward.” It just ab- solutely messes up my whole schedule from when I go to bed, when I eat my meals, and when I get up. It takes weeks for my family and me to adjust to that darn time change. By the time we get adjusted, it’s almost time to revert back to “Fall back.” I am here to tell you that dreaded day will soon be upon us – it’s March 8. Some of you might like it; me, not so much. I actually can walk around in a short-sleeved shirt. I feel bad for the people on the Eastern seaboard. They are just getting clobbered with snow. Wish they could share some with us. I don’t think I will need my snow tires anymore this season, sigh. For our lunch on Feb. 10, we had hamburgers, curly fries, macaroni salad, and dessert. Our cooks were Terry Cade and Christy Howell.
