UK HKNT 11V TIIK NoKTHKKN PACIFIC UaII.WAV Co., TO ANY AIIMHKHH UI'O.V HKCKII'T, IN STAMI'S, Oil OTHKH WIHK.OFTHK AMOUNTS NAMED The heavy weight of snow has lately demolished the mill building belonging to Geo. Long on Elephant Mountain. It is not known as yet what, if any, damage is done to the mill machery. Geo. O. Knowles is now employed at the Noonday mine. His friends would not recognize him now in miners costume as the ex editor of the Florence West. However he takes as kindly to the pick and shovel, the hammer and drill or sledge and gad as he formerly did to the scissors and paste pot. Ornian Brush, one of the proprietors of the Fairview Mining and Milling Co., is spending a week in town. Every few days are to be seen mining experts from a distance ex amining different properties in camp. This is something unheard of before at this time of year and under the present conditions of weather, and surely indicates that our camp is talked of abroad. Even the kodack fiend has found us out and has of late been taking snap shots of different localities. The Combination mine on Martin creek are working a force of men on a 500 foot cross cut to tap their big ledge of high grade galena ore at a trreat denth. Without doubt this section of thf rnmn twill rnmp to the front this season with some good properties. Your correspondent lately visited the big arastra on Sharp crek which has proven such a gigantic failure, and can truly say that it has I the appearance more of school boy experiment than the work of I practical mining men. This is only another convincing proof of the j fact that all the failures in the Bohemia camps are due more to the worK 01 niexperienreti men man omerwise. i nis property lias been purchased by Mr. Ed Jenks, foreman at the Noonday mine, who now has a crew of men at work developing the mine in a systematic manner. There is a mountain of ore in sight, and with Ed's thorough knowledge of mines and mining we predict success for his venture. At Miuersville the LeRoy Bros are pushing development work on their group of claims and are said to be showing up some free milling ore. For the first time in months the weather conditions seem favorable for a final breaking up of storms. The snow is disappearing very rapidly and it is confidently hoped that it means for good this season. Many ot the principal mines in camp are only waiting for these con ditions to begin an active seasons work. A IX KINDS OH Everything in the House and Bam Building line. Coal.
