The Oregon State Grange.
Salem, May 25. The second
day of the session of the state
grange opened with a full attend
ance. The worthy lecturer read a
report, showing a prosperous con
dition of the order. A vernal re
port of the condition of the Lower
Columbia Fire Belief Association
showed a good business start and
permanent growth.
The committee on resolutions
reported the follewing:
Whereas, At the last session
ol the legislature there was intro
duced and pasbed through the
house a bill on assessment and tax
ation, which your committee be
lieve to be a just and righteous
bill; therefore be it
Resolved, That we are in favor
of tho enactment of said bill into
a law at the next session of ihe
legislature of the state of Oregon.
The committee also reported the
following, which was adopted.
Whereas, It is reported in the
public prints that railrcads are vi
olating the statute of this state
known as the Holt law, by charg
ing more for a shorter than a long
haul; therefore be it
Resolved, That it is the duty of
the railroad commission, estab
lished by this state, to inquire into
violations of the law, and endeavor
to have the law obeyed; also, that
it is tho duty of said commission
to generally inquire into the gen
eral management of the railroads
of this state, and that said commis
sion should do so witeout waiting
for complaints of citizens who may
be aggrieved.
J. C. Jennings,
N. P. Payne,
Mrs. E. SiiurE,
Committee.
It was voted that this resolution
be given to the press for publica
tion and a copy be sent to the
railroad commission.

GOOD NEWS FOR THE AFFLICTED.
A Remarkable Oure
of Rheumatism and Catarrh.
Baldwinsville, N. Y.
Pardee Medicine Co.
Gentlemen : About one year ago
I chilled my blood and was under tne
Doctor's care for about six months
when I had a counsel of eight physi
cicuis and was given up to die. Soon
after, a lady friend came to see me
and told me about your great Remedy.
She said she had been cured by it
afier having the rheumatism seven
years, and that her rheumatism was
first brought on bjr a cold. At this
time I was suffering severe pain all
through, my body and near my heart.
The doctors called it only "frozen
blood." Through the persuasion of
my friend I procured a bottle. I
found some relief. Seeing this I pro
cured more and was entirely cured
by its use ; and what was my surprise
and pleasure at finding that I was not
only cured of my rheumatism, but
the catarrh, which had been troubl
ing me for years, "and had become
very offensive, had entirely left me.
Wishing your remedy every suc
cess, and thanking you very much
for my double cure, I remain,
Truly vours,
MRS. LUCY BRONSON.
Rochester, N. Y.
Gexts : I was confined to my bed
with Inflammatory Rheumatism for
over a week ; was very badly afflicted,
suffering from severe pains in my
chest, it was going to my heart. On
Thursday the 15th I commenced us
ing Dr. Pardee's Rheumatic Remedy
at 9 o'clock, P. M., and on Saturday
the 17th, was able to walk all over
the house, and have since continued
to improvej and take pleasure in
recommending it to all who are afflic
ted with the terrible disease.
