COM Saturday, Nov. 28 F ESTIVAL OF T REES The annual Festival of Trees will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Florence Events Center. Admission is free but a donation of $3 for each person attending is sug- gested. There will be light refresh- ments available and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there. Mirror, at 1780 Kingwood St. Stop in for some holiday cheer and select an ornament from the tree. Each ornament represents specific needs of a high school teen. Gifts must be brought to Siuslaw Glass and Mirror no later than Wednesday, Dec. 16, to be distributed before Christmas break. Stop by and enjoy a cup of coffee and some cookies while helping make the season a little brighter for a teen in our community. H OLIDAY FESTIVAL LIGHTS TREE Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive by fire truck in Historic Old Town Florence for the annual Tree Lighting festival at 3:30 p.m. at Gazebo Park on Bay Street. At 4:30 p.m., at the Siuslaw Interpretive Center, the Flo-Tones lead Christmas carols until 5:30 p.m., when Mayor Joe Henry will illuminate the huge Christmas tree. Sunday, Nov. 29 G ALA OF G IVING HOLDS AUCTION The Festival of Trees continues from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Gala of Giving, a semi-formal ticketed event. The gala will have champagne and hors d’oeurves to kick off the live auction of the festive trees. Tickets for the gala are available at the Gilday State Farm Insurance office or TR Hunter Real Estate. Monday, Nov. 30 T REE OF G IVING RETURNS The “Tree of Giving” is now in its 15th year at Siuslaw Glass and Wednesday, Dec. 2 S IUSLAW W ATERSHED TO MEET The Siuslaw Watershed Council will hold its final general meeting of 2015 at the Mapleton Grange from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The meeting will include a slideshow, end-of-year potluck, Spirit of Siuslaw Awards and 2016 Leadership Nominations.
