Assistant Event Coordinator
The Florence Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking an event planner or
event coordinator with experience. Experience with PowerPoint, QuickBooks
and Scheduling programs. Familiarity with budgets. Proficient in social media
skills including, but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter and Smart Phone use.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1 year office
experience or related experience, which includes experience with Microsoft
Word and Excel. Driver License and reliable transportation to drive to various
locations throughout the community to perform job duties.
Job Duties:
H Responsible for production and coordination of events for the Chamber of
Commerce.
H Hands on position working under the direction of the Executive Director and
the Board of Directors.
H Event budget preparation that reconciles with the annual budget.
H Coordinate event details including timelines, logistics and publicity.
H Utilize computer and social media experience for data entry and to perform
job duties.
H Attend event committee meetings and monthly Board meetings as needed.
H Conduct follow up evaluations, report on all budgets and report to Board.
H Assist with other Chamber programs and events when appropriate.
H Utilize excellent communication and organization skills, attention to detail,
problem solving, and multi tasking skills to perform job duties.
H Work well with volunteer committee members and help achieve consensus
and good communication with members.
H Work independently and work well under pressure.
H Engage vendors and recruit volunteers for events.
H Coordinate and work events. Handle all event logistics.
H Attend public hearings as required.
H Lift up to 50 pounds of various merchandise and supplies as needed during
event preparation.
H Stand for long periods of time and work outside in all weather conditions.
H Perform other duties as assigned.
Days and Hours: Work 5 to 40 hours weekly, averages about 20 hours weekly
depending on work load. Work flexible hours depending on event days and times,
including weekends, holidays and evenings. Some overtime possible when nec-
essary.
