Maximum size for flat work is 38 inches measured either horizontally or vertically. Three-dimensional items must fit into the display case. City Lights, Siuslaw News host Earth Day film today In celebration of Earth Day, April 22, City Lights Cinemas and the Siuslaw News will be partnering together to present “Planetary” at noon and 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. Directed by Guy Reid, “Planetary” presents a stunning visual portrait of our Earth, taking viewers on a journey across continents: from the African savannah to the Himalayas, and from the heart of Tokyo to the view of our fragile planet from orbit. Through intimate interviews with a diversity of people, from NASA astronauts and environ- mentalists to philosophers and Tibetan lamas, the film explores our shared future. It suggests that the key to transforming our civilization lies in an understanding that all life is inseparably intercon- nected, and that we cannot change the world unless we change the way we see our- selves, our planet and the wider cosmos we are embedded with- in.
