Crop-Weather, Bulletin No. 18.
The observer of tho Oregon Weather
Bureau, of Portland, Oregon, has is
sued tho bulletin for the week ending
Saturday, July 11, 1891, tho same bo
ing based upon reports received from
1-17 correspondents, which is as follows :
WEKTEKN OltKGON.
Weather. The temperaturo has
been four degrees a day below the
average The weather has been partly
cloudy with general rains on 9th, 10th
and 11th. In some localities nearly
an inch of ram fell. Over half an
inch fell in this section.
Crops. Tho rains did some damage
to tho hay cut and down. Consider
able hay has been already housed, and
some remains to bo cut. Generally
tho crop has been heavier than for
many years. Fivo tons per aero of
clover hay is reported from Curry
county. Tho wheat prospects con
tinuo to bo unusually good. Twenty
two to thirty-four stalks stooled out
from ono main in Yamhill countv.
Tho heads aro largo and berry full and
plump. Tho grain is turning yellow
and harvest will begin in ten days.
Oats and barloy aro promising large
yields. Fruit trees aro heavily laden
and indicate moro of a crop than was
expected. Insects aro fow and no
damago from thorn as yot. Hops aro
coming on well. Tho lico have not
been ai destructivo as was anticipated.
Early corn is in tho silk. Early pota
toes havo been a very full crop.
Cherries aro yet quite plentiful.
Peaches aro ripening. Warmer weath
er and more sunshiiio needed for all
vegetation.

Weather. Tho temperaturo has
anged from 1 to 0 degrees a day be
low tho average. Partly cloudy weath
er and general rains prevailed, extend
ing over tho entire wheat bolt of
Eastern Oregon as well as Washing
ton. Crops. Haying is in progress,
yielding well, but some has boon in
jured by tho rains. Tho hay crop
through tho stock sections is especial-
y heavy. Tho rains will havo u ten
dency to help Bpriug grain fill hotter.
Fall wheat has hoaded roniarkably
woll and tho excellent prospects con
tinue. General reports indicate that
tho largest yield, per aoro and total,
will bo obtained. Oats and barloy aro
lino crops; in sections ryo is a poor
stand. Pears, prunes and othor fruits
promiso unusually woll. Crickets aro
doing some damago to wheat in Mor
row county. Warmor weathor and
sunshinu aro needed for all crops, corn
especially, though so far it looks very
woll.

$13.3.00: on September 23 18!K, $25.00, leav
ing a balance due at thr prc-cnt time, '
counting interest, of $2502,S0, and whereas
an execution was issued out of .said circuit
court, to me directed and delivered, bear
ing date June, 18, 1891, commanding mo
that out ot the personal nroncrtv of said
defendant, Daniel Chaplin, or if sulllcient
cannot bo found, then out of the real prop
erty of said defendant I make the said sum of
$2ii02.S0 and also the costs of and upon this
writ, and whereas no personal property
was found, I did. by virtue of said writ, on
the 20th day of June. 1891, levy upon all
the right, title, interest or claim of the said
defendant, Daniel Chaplin, on or after tho
19th day of February, 1887, 1" and to 10
acres in a square from out ot tho SE corner
of tho NW'4 of the NK' of See. 18, Tp. 3
South, of Kange 38 K. W. M.. situated in
Union county. Oregon, together with the
privilege for a ditch and the right of way
therefor 1(! feet in width running through
the said NWJ4 of the NEJ4 of said Sec. 18
in the place, and as the same is now occu
pied and used by the pipes and ditch of the
La Orando llydraul c Water Company.
And by virtue of said execution and levy
1 will sell at public auction at the court
house door in Union, Union county, Ore
gon, on Saturday tlio 2,rth day of July, 1891,
at 2.o'clock p. in. of said day, all the right,
title, claim and interest that the said de
fendant had on or after tho said 19th day of
February, 18S7, in or to the above described
premises, or sulllciunt thereof to satisfy
said judgment, costs, disbursements anil
